A 46 year- old woman, Hajiya Bilkisu Mahmoud, slumped and died in the office of the Niger State Governor, Muazu Aliyu on Monday.
The woman, a mother of three, had waited several hours to see the Governor, but was denied access to see him because he was said to have a lot of files to treat due to the New Year break.
She was later allowed to see the Governor after much
pleading and while in the Governor’s Office she
slumped.
The woman who was suspected to be asthmatic was
immediately rushed to the Minna General Hospital
where doctors confirmed her dead.
All attempts to get an official statement from the State Government proved abortive, as all officials of the state avoided attempts to get them to comment.
She retired from the State Civil Service three years
ago and until her death, was a staff of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency.
