The official result of the inconclusive Anambra governorship elections have been announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC.
The preliminary results announced by INEC's Returning Officer who is also Vice Chancellor University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. James Epoke, showed that the candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance, (APGA), Chief Willie Obiano, scored 174,710, to beat his closest rival Comrade Tony Nwoye, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 94,956 votes, while Senator Dr. Chris Nwabueze Ngige of All Progressives Congress (APC), came third in the race by scoring 92,300 votes. The valid votes cast at the election were 413,005, while the rejected votes stood at 16,544, bringing the total number of votes cast to 528,549 in a State that has 1,784,536 registered voters.
